If you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else and suddenly realized you’re not quite sure where you went, you’re in the right place.
Finally Choosing Me isn’t about becoming a completely different person. It’s about discovering the person who was there all along—underneath the responsibilities, expectations, relationships, grief, mistakes, and all the roles we learned to play.
So where do you start?
Start wherever something feels familiar. Maybe you’re learning to say no without apologizing. Maybe life has changed and you’re figuring out who you are now. Maybe you’re rebuilding after loss, working on your confidence, changing your body or your style, navigating getting older, or simply realizing that you’re ready for something to be about you for a change.
There’s no right order to this journey—and there won’t be a perfect order to the stories here either. Real life has never been that organized.
What you’ll find here
You’ll find stories about choosing yourself, starting over, becoming who you want to be, surviving the chaos, and learning some lessons the hard way.
I’ll talk about boundaries and grown children, weight loss and body image, grief and new beginnings, menopause and aging, confidence and personal style, family, pets, nursing, relationships—and probably a few things I haven’t even figured out I need to talk about yet.
This isn’t a story about having everything figured out. It’s about what happens when you finally decide you’re worth figuring out.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you start choosing yourself.
I certainly didn’t.
I’m still learning what boundaries look like, what I want this chapter of my life to become, and how to choose myself without feeling like I need to explain or apologize for it.
So read a story. Laugh with me. Cry with me. Roll your eyes at some of my decisions. Maybe recognize a little bit of yourself somewhere along the way.
I started this journey to find myself. I’d love some company.
Welcome to Finally Choosing Me.
Maybe it’s finally your turn, too.
